A successful career in real estate simply does not happen and rarely comes easily. Real estate sales are greatly demanding and a special dedication to perfection is required.

Somebody like you, who enter the profession, will travel a challenging path. Be ready to invest time and money into a lifetime of work.

Every two years you will need to make sure that you are current and active with the real estate industry. The market is dynamic, legislation is constantly changing, and new technologies are constantly emerging. It is no wonder that knowledge is power in the real estate market.

Personal sacrifice is also a reality. In the heat of conversation, most buyers and sellers have little relation to the time of day. You have to be prepared to work long hours, face high-stress levels, and you will likely have a short social life for the first 5 years of getting into your business. It is also true that a career in real estate is anything but regular and you are asked to take action at all times and hours of the day.

Nevertheless, successful people of the profession first of all call it a matter of perspective and balance. Trade-offs must be made, but personal freedom, a satisfactory career, and long-term gains are worth the effort.

High-Tech Paid Off – In my experience, today’s leading salespeople rely on integrated databases, hand-held smartphones and personal computers, global positioning systems, and virtual house tours that can e-mail customers.
